Thu 19 April 2012

The arrival last week of prolific winner VOILA ICIwas met with great excitement from all at La Grange.  The grey son of Daylami has taken well to his new surroundings and has become acquainted with the Heath over the last few days.  The seven year old entire has compiled an impressive record in Italy and France winning thirteen of his twenty eight races, seven of which were at group level. In 2009 he won the Group 1 Premio Roma and was voted Champion Older Horse and Middle Distance Stayer in Italy the same year. His other Group 1 win came last year in the form of the Gran Premio Di Milano which he added to his four Group 3 successes and his Group 2 win in the Prix Maurice de Nieuil. Described as "the perfect racehorse" by his former trainer Vittoria Caruso, the Irish bred is the only winner from five foals out of the stakes winning Barathea mare Far Hope who died in 2010. The veteran has joined La Grange with a view to running in the Emirates Melbourne Cup, a race Dunlop came within a nose of winning with Red Cadeaux last year.
