Arethusa went one better on her second start, winning stylishly at Newmarket by two and a quarter lengths. This scopey daughter of Rip Van Winkle has a fantastic attitude and really displayed this on her first start for La Grange Stables at Kempton, earlier on this month; finishing second in a competitive maiden. This race experience put Arethusa in good stead for her second outing at Newmarket. She travelled well under Kieren Fallon and took up the lead a furlong out, winning comfortably. We are delighted to get our first two year old winner on the board for the season and this filly has proven to be a great purchase for The Serendipity Partnership; who were present to see their filly’s victory.
We had two other notable two year old runners last week. Prince Gagarin and Fieldsman both ran in a Newbury maiden and ran creditably, showing plenty of promise for the future.
