During what has been a quiet All Weather campaign for Ed Dunlop Racing, with very few runners, it was rewarding to see Rockabill Angel tough out a slowly run affair at Newcastle over 1m4f to provide owner Gaynor Rupert and Cayton Park Stud with a winner.
This homebred daughter of Fastnet Rock has had a consistent AW campaign since joining us in November, running over middle-distance trips including a second-place finish at Southwell. In the first-time visor she gave a gutsy performance to come from last to first, getting her head in front under a strong ride by Clifford Lee.
The filly will now be retired from racing and return to Cayton Park where she is due to be covered by Havana Grey. This scopey and kind natured filly will make a fantastic broodmare and we look forward to possibly seeing her offspring here at La Grange in the future.
