Purchased from Book 3 for 13,000gns by Anthony Bromley, this filly is out of a German Listed Stakes winner, Lady Liberty.
Lady Liberty is a half-sister to Qatar racing owned, Ocean Road, who won the Grade 1 Gamely Stakes earlier this year. So far at stud, Lady Liberty has produced two-year-old winner Lady Iffraaj, who also progressed to win at three in Italy.
This filly is from the first crop by Derby winning stallion, Masar. A son of New Approach, Masar was a high-class two-year-old. He broke his maiden on debut before going on to win a competitive renewal of the Solario Stakes at Sandown. At three, he landed the Craven Stakes by a highly impressive nine lengths, earning him favouritism for the 2,000 Guineas, a race he was unfortunate not to win when coming third. Nonetheless, he was soon stepped up in trip and became Godolphin’s first ever Derby winner.
His first yearlings have been extremely well received at the sales, realising prices as high as £350,000, and purchasers such as Godolphin, Shadwell, King Power and Andrew Balding all eager to buy his stock.
This filly is a typical stamp of her sire and looks to be one that will be ready to run before the main summer festivals get underway next year.
