With Christmas fast approaching, last week was a busy one for everyone at La Grange with nine runners being sent out.
The highlight of the week was Maysong who after a lengthy break from the track took Kempton by storm and bolted in by three lengths. We also saw Sophie Smith take her first ride as our apprentice on Gottardo. She gave him a perfect ride, he travelled nicely throughout and ran a creditable fourth. Sophie has a tremendous work ethic and it will only be a matter of time before the winners start to flow.
Mondays have now become a health drive day for Ed Dunlop Racing staff with Skye Gilbert, one of our work riders, holding a half an hour exercise class at lunch time. This Monday there was a great turnout, which even saw severely unfit Assistant Trainer, Jack Morland in attendance. It has been a great way to keep team moral up during these cold winter months.
Back to the racecourse, we have Zenaida running on Wednesday and Grandscape gives Sophie Smith her second ride on Thursday. They are both in good order and should run good races.
Thursday evening sees the return of our eagerly anticipated Christmas Party. With a very good turnout expected we are all hoping that we can celebrate Christmas with a few more winners. There will be no excuses for tardiness on Friday morning however !!!
I will keep you updated as to how we get on during the week.
Have a lovely week everyone,
Many Thanks,
Ed
