TOGIAK got off the mark at the second time of asking in a 1m maiden at Kempton this afternoon..
The son of Azamour, a 5-1 chance, had previously finished fourth behind the highly regarded Al Zir at Newmarket on his racecourse debut.
He looked to have improved from that outing and was able to get the better of Navy List after a cracking head-to-head duel.
Jockey Tom Queally was able to get a good tow into the race aboard trainer Ed Dunlop's charge. And Togiak, when asked for his effort, responded gamely, battling on well to score by a neck.
