29-07-2009 Candy Ride so tough in Sandown win
CANDY RIDE put herself back in the winner’s enclosure by taking a 9f handicap at Sandown on July 29.
Just over half-an-hour after stable-mate Spring Adventure went down by a short head and a neck at the Esher track, Candy Ride posted a success for trainer Ed Dunlop.
The Rick Barnes-owned filly tracked the early pace under jockey Ryan Moore and went on at the head of affairs, approaching the furlong-marker.
The 15/8 favourite responded bravely to Moore’s urgings as Luck Will Come served up a game effort. But Candy Ride had all the answers and held on for a head victory - her second in her last three starts.
