18-07-2009 King Charles rules at Newbury
KING CHARLES bounced back to form with a smooth victory in a 1m2f handicap at Newbury this afternoon.
The son of King’s Best hasn’t won since September 2007 but thoroughly deserved this success having ran well on many occasions since.
Sent off an 11-2 chance, he was held up towards the rear under Richard Hughes but always travelled well.
Hughes asked his mount to improve his position 2f out and sure enough King Charles quickened up smartly to lead close home, scoring by three-quarters of a length.
