29-06-2009 Winning ways at Wolverhampton
RED CADEAUX gained his first career win when taking a 1m4f handicap at Wolverhampton this afternoon.
The son of Cadeaux Genereux was making his handicap debut, having run three times this season - the latter of which was a good third at Ripon last month.
Sent off a 9-2 chance in today’s contest, jockey Seb Sanders had him settled just on the heels of the leaders.
When the pace quickened along the back straight Sanders gave him one reminder and he soon came back on the bridle.
On entering the straight, none was travelling better and he quickened up impressivel,y soon galloping clear to score by six lengths.
This was a taking performance from a colt who looks to be going the right way and can hopefully develop again for his victory.
