27-06-2009 Andhaar off the mark
ANDHAAR got his head in front for the first time in a 1m2f maiden at Lingfield on Saturday night (June 27).
The son of Bahri was sent off the 10-11 favourite having been placed in five of his seven previous outings.
He did the job well on his latest start in the hands of jockey Ryan Moore who settled him just off the leaders.
As they entered the straight Moore kicked for home and stole a few lengths on the remainder of the field. From that point the result was not in doubt and he galloped on strongly to a three-length victory.
It was great to see this horse get his head in front after some near misses and connections will be hoping that another winning opportunity will soon come his way.
