TRAINER Ed Dunlop has confirmed that last week’s Lingfield conditions stakes winner WASAN is a Royal Ascot possible.
Sheikh Hamdan’s son of Pivotal was an impressive winner over 1m 2f last Thursday at the Surrey track and has a couple of possible options at the famous Royal meeting.
Dunlop said: “I was thrilled to see him back to winning ways after a disappointing reappearance at York . We knew he liked the all-weather but that was definitely the best performance of his life at Lingfield.
“He has come out of the race well and if the ground isn’t too fast will go to Ascot . We’ll see what the handicapper does on Tuesday but he already has an entry in the Hardwicke and all being well he’ll probably also be put in the Wolferton (listed handicap).”
