17-02-2009Princess Zohra wins her Maiden
We were thrilled to see Princess Zohrawin her Maiden at Wolverhampton yesterday under a fine ride from Jimmy Quinn. From the well drawn position of stall three, Princess Zohra jumped well and travelled strongly in front. She was headed briefly around the back stretch but she took up the lead again turning in for home and although she wandered a little in front, she won by three quarters of a length.
Princess Zohra is owned by Mr Quy, Mr Gordon Watson and Mr Dunlop. Mr Quy had particular reason to celebrate yesterday, as it was not only his birthday, but he also bred Princess Zohra from his mare Desert Royalty, whom Ed trained to win four races a few years ago.

We will have to wait and see how the handicapper assess’ this victory but hopefully Princess Zohra will be capable of winning again this season, however she has already greatly enhanced her broodmare credentials.
