24-04-2008 Dunlop Makes History At Great Leighs
Ed Dunlop made history on Sunday afternoon when he saddled the first winner at the new racecourse, Great Leighs.
Temple Of Thebes carried the famous Cliveden Stud colours to victory in the six furlong fillies Maiden. Ridden by Stephen Donohoe, the filly was held up early on before making good headway two furlongs out. She took up the lead with just over a furlong left to travel and she was pushed out to the line to win by four lengths from Nice Dream.
We were absolutely delighted with this result as Temple Of Thebes had good form from her two runs as a two year old and we hope that she can continue to progress.

Although not quite completed, it looks as though Great Leighs is going to be a huge asset to British racing and Ed Dunlop was very complimentary about the track.
