16.11.06 - Ouija crowned 'Horse of the Year'
Ouija Board entered the history books last night, when she became the only horse to be crowned 'Horse of the Year' twice at the prestigious Cartier awards in London.
The seven time Group 1 winning mare first achieved the feat in 2004 following a fairytale season that included two Classics and a Breeders' Cup victory.

Ouija Board
It all so nearly ended in 2005, following a year overshadowed by injury. The appearance of a splint and then a stress fracture following her Prince Of Wales’s run almost sent Ouija Board to the paddocks prematurely.
Nurtured back to health by the team here at Gainsborough Stables, Ouija Board bounced back to her very best to land the Group 1 Hong Kong Vase in December 2005.
This year Ouija Board has affirmed herself as the ‘Queen of the Turf,’ with emphatic victories in the Prince of Wales’s, the Nassau Stakes and the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf.
In achieving her second accolade as ‘Horse of the Year’ Ouija Board has been recognised as the most iconic flat horse of recent times.
And it doesn’t end there! November sees the super mare taking up an engagement in Japan, before returning to Sha Tin where she will bid for her second Hong Kong Vase.
