SUSSEX STAKES hero Court Masterpiece is ready for action again with this Saturday’s Queen Elizabeth Stakes II race his next engagement.
The six-year-old son of Polish Precedent proved himself a genuine Group 1 star when adding the prestigious Glorious Goodwood race to a C.V. that already includes a triumph in the Prix de la Foret.
Now he is poised for a return to Ascot where he was considered by many to be an unlucky loser in the Queen Anne Stakes back at the Royal meeting.
His final gallop ahead of this Saturday’s big mile contest was completed without a hitch on Wednesday morning and connections now have their fingers crossed that Court Masterpiece is another top-class display.
“We were pleased with the way he went,” said Dunlop, reflecting on his charge’s latest work-out. “We were very happy with him and he has come out if well.
“He is in good form but it is a very competitive race and I hope he runs well.”
