06.09.06 - King Charles reigns at Lingfield
KING CHARLES made a winning start to nursery life as he took a seven-furlong event in good style.
The King’s Best gelding gave an impressive performance as he rattled home up the centre of the track under jockey Daragh O’Donohoe.

Trainer Ed Dunlop’s charge was towards the rear of the 14-runner event through the early exchanges.
But he began to make progress from four furlongs out and found himself bang there as they approached the closing 200 yards.
He led as they passed the furlong pole and was driven out by O’Donohoe to record a length-and-a-half victory.
It was a smart enough performance and showed that King Charles continues to go the right way.
Ebraam also ran with credit at the track finishing second in the seven-furlong maiden. The lightly-raced Red Ransom colt kept on nicely and hopefully it won’t be too long before he goes one better.
