Zauffaly
It was cold first thing this morning and we had some light showers but it has brightened up a little as the morning has gone on. There was a hive of activity on the flat gallop this morning as everybody prepares their runners for the upcoming Craven meeting. We used the flat gallop first lot and then we worked a few horses on the Al Bahathri second lot. I was happy with how they all went.
Zauffaly runs at Kempton this evening in the 6:45 0-75 Classified Stakes. As you would expect it is a trappy affair with the Mark Johnston horse currently favourite, he disappointed in three handicaps but has the best piece of form on offer. Zauffaly finished fifth behind some smart types at Chelmsford last time and he would look to have a chance too.
One of Rockery’s owners Frances Stanley rode out for us for the first time this morning as she starts to prepare for a tilt at the Town Plate. She is riding out for us three days a week and then for William Haggas three days a week.
I have headed off to Ascot and by the time you read this I will be attending the Brightwells Ascot Sales. I always like to purchase a handful of horses from the Breeze Up sales and they have served us well in the past. If you are interested in owning a breeze up purchase or part-owning please contact us at office@eddunlopracing.co.uk or on 01638661998.
It is Harry Burns’ twenty first birthday today and he has a ride in the last at Catterick for Les Eyre. I wish Harry who is one of our Apprentices here at La Grange many happy returns and I hope he can ride a winner to mark the big occasion.
