It has been a warm day here at HQ and there is barely a breath of wind in the air. We could get some thunder storms around the country tomorrow but it is very hard to gauge which racecourses will be affected by them. The forecast suggests Northern tracks have a higher probability of getting rain than those down South but it is an unpredictable Science.
Kafoo possibly found the ground too quick at Brighton and he was disappointing yesterday in the one mile handicap.
Sileel is our only runner today and she runs in the 12f fillies’ Maiden at Kempton Park this evening. She was green on debut there and was never involved but we fitted a visor and she ran well at Goodwood when second. The filly that beat her has since run well in a handicap off of 78 and so we are hopeful she will run a big race. The trip is an unknown but Josie felt she wasn’t stopping at Goodwood and that this 12f trip would be within her compass.
Looking at her dangers Mod was much improved last time although she arguably only ran close to 70 and will have to step forward again if Sileel can match her Goodwood run. Improvement is not out of the question as her stable are flying and she has a valuable three pounds taken off of her back. Paris Rooftops has two and a half lengths to make up on us from the Goodwood run and Button Up may improve for a first time visor. This looks like a good spot for Sileel and if she stays this trip she has a favourite’s chance given what we have seen so far on the racecourse.
