Ten Chants

Good afternoon from Newmarket. It has been a quiet start to the week for us, and like on Monday we just send a single runner to Wolverhampton this evening.

The horse in question is Ten Chants, who will be the first runner from our recently re-launched Serendipity Partnership. The three horses in the partnership look like lovely types that will give the members an awful lot of fun.

Ten Chants, a son of Gregorian out of a winning Avonbridge mare, is the most forward of the trio and gets the ball rolling in the seven-furlong median auction maiden at 6.15. His dam was a multiple winner at up to a mile, and it is essentially a seven-furlong/mile type of pedigree. He has shown up nicely in his work at home, but it is no secret that my horses improve enormously for their first racecourse experience. He would not want the ground too quick first time up, which is why we have sought refuge on the AW for now.

Gregorian seems to get tough and hardy animals that run regularly – and the mare was in the same sort of mould - so it will be good to get this lad going and see where we stand. He is drawn nicely in the middle of the pack and hopefully he can break on terms and show some promise. Daniel Muscutt takes the ride.

All the best, Ed.
