After getting stuck in the mud at Haydock at the beginning of the month, VERREAUX EAGLE returned to winning ways at Wolverhampton on Thursday night.
With a line-up of six runners, Verreaux Eagle jumped from stall one under Martin Harley. The Michael Appleby trained, Twentysharesofgrey, made the running setting a fast pace early on, so Harley settled Verreaux Eagle towards the rear of the pack. Turning the bend for home, the daughter of Free Eagle challenged wide and soon had the better of the field. Harley then pushed Verreaux Eagle out to win by a comfortable three lengths.
