Two-year-olds in good form

Tue 21 June 2011

Ed, back on Tuesday following a mini post-Ascot break, is happy with the form of our two-year-olds, with BURWAAZ arguably unlucky in last week's Group 2 Norfolk Stakes. "It turned out that he was drawn on the wrong side, so he has run a cracker to finish fourth, beaten less than three lengths," said the boss, who has plenty of options both at Newmarket's July meeting and Glorious Goodwood.

Meanwhile, PIRANHA and SHAMAAL NIBRAS both opened their score on Monday. Piranha, dropped in trip after a promising Doncaster debut, was given a confident ride by Richard Hughes in the maiden on the Polytrack at Kempton and won with plenty to spare, while Shamaal Nibras, who ran green first time out at Goodwood, overcame an outside draw to land the odds with the minimum of fuss under champion jockey Paul Hanagan on the all-weather at Wolverhampton.
