Two more winners on the Polytrack

Thu 18 August 2011

We have an excellent strike-rate on the all-weather this year, and a double at Kempton, courtesy of AL KHAWANEEJ and SUSAN STROMAN, has kept the pot boiling this week.

Ed said:"It was Al Khawaneej's first time on the polytrack, and he took to the surface straight away. Clearly, the experiment with the visor worked, too, and, under an enterprising ride from Jamie Spencer, he won the mile and a half handicap easing down by seven lengths."

"Jamie was similarly aggressive on Susan Stroman in the two-mile handicap. She had been disappointing at Yarmouth, but she seems to love the polytrack and we will have to see how the handicapper reacts before deciding where to go next."

Casting his eyes forward to York on Saturday, Ed added:"ROMEO MONTAGUE steps up in trip for the Melrose, and we think it will suit him. He won in the soft at Brighton, so if the rain returns it won't be a problem."
