Mulzim
We have had a little rain here at HQ and it has been overcast for the majority of the morning with a gentle breeze. It did not rain at Epsom yesterday and the ground is starting to dry out for the Derby meeting. If they miss the rain on Friday then the Derby could be run on relatively fast ground.
Alemaratalyoum was our only runner yesterday and he was far too keen and failed to stay the mile trip, we may drop him back to 7f next time.
We have three runners today and the first is Mulzim in the 2:40 at Lingfield. Mulzim did well to win last time as he was drawn badly and the third and fourth have franked the form since. He is better drawn today in stall six and I think he will be able to carry the burden of 9:9 so I hope he can run a big race. A Sure Welcome keeps winning and despite the move up in grade he has to be feared. This step up in trip should suit Team Meeting on pedigree but he will have to settle if he is to stay the 7f trip.
Mutabaahy is our next runner in the 4:20 at Leicester. His dam Habaayib won the Albany and he is bred to be speedy being by Oasis Dream. Roussel is a strong favourite in the race for a yard that can do little wrong with their first time two year olds and he was a very expensive purchase. Alaska and Demons Rock have both shown they possess ability. I hope our horse can show some promise for the future. Our final runner is Global Exceed in the 6:40 at Wolverhampton this evening. He ran better last time when third and he has a good draw in stall five. Trusting Friend sets a reasonable standard having been second at Thirsk and Our Man In Havana was well backed when beaten at Doncaster. Awsaaf is a newcomer that has been well found in the market and Jaalboot is well bred too. Tony Soprano showed up well for a long time at Newbury and shouldn’t be discounted completely here. It looks like it could be quite a strong Maiden for the track and I hope our colt can run respectably but we will need to improve on what we have shown so far to be involved
