Global Exceed
It has got very cold here at HQ and there was a slight ground frost overnight. I hope it does knock the horses backwards too much. We worked some horses on the Watered Gallop this morning and the ground was beautiful but we need some rain followed by some warmer weather.
Sileel stayed on a little late on in the fillies’ Maiden at Kempton and we will try her over further next time. She was still green and will improve for the experience, the winner looked quite smart and did not have to fully exert herself to win. Wealth Tax was unsuited by the slow early pace and we will pray for some soft ground when he is ready to run next.
We have one runner today in a trappy two year old contest at Brighton. Global Exceed has some ability but he has been drawn widest of the six runners and it will be hard up against some with experience who are drawn inside him. The favourite is quite well-bred and showed plenty on debut and Diamond Pursuit and Milton Road both have a run under their belts and will improve. Brighton is not a straightforward track and we are hopeful of a good run without being confident he will win.
