Lyrical
Good Morning from Newmarket. We are quiet at the start of this week, but head to Leicester this afternoon with an interesting runner.
In the seven-furlong fillies’ novice at 2.20, the Poet’s Voice two-year-old Lyrical makes her racecourse debut. A sibling of the mile and two Listed winner Grey Britain and the Italian Oaks runner-up Full Of Beauty, amongst others, she has a pedigree that is all about next year.
Earlier in the season she was very immature and needed to settle down, but she has taken a great step forward in recent weeks. So much so, in fact, that I think an outing now will do her long-term development the world of good. There is no doubt that she will improve enormously for the run this afternoon, as all my two-year-olds do, but I am looking forward to getting her started nonetheless.
All the best,
Ed.
