Props used by the Racefit team in their talk
A slightly overcast morning here in Suffolk today. We worked some horses on the Al Bahathri both first and second lots and I was pleased with how the horses seem to be progressing as we get to within touching distance of the start of the flat season. Al Hamd is a horse I like and I was very happy with the way he won at Kempton yesterday evening, he was entitled to win as he did but it is always nice when a horse goes out and produces what you expect on the racecourse. Justice First ran another solid race and gave our young Apprentice Luke Carson some invaluable experience. It was only his second ride and he will have learnt a lot from it.
We run two horses today in the 5:40 pm Fillies’ maiden at Wolverhampton. Flinty Fell made a promising debut at Lingfield and finished her race off well. I hope she can improve from her first run to her second. She will need to improve as Intermittent sets a decent level of form having been second to Sagely recently at the Midlands venue. Gabrielle is making her debut and I hope the daughter of Paco Boy can show us some promise.
The Racefit team were at La Grange this morning providing valuable nutritional advice to all the employees here. Annika Broster and Pippa Stanford gave everyone a tackroom talk during breakfast and this will hopefully prove to be extremely beneficial to them. Free Occupational Health Clinics are also available where those working in racing can have free health assessments. Both Annika and Pippa are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and we hope to see them again in the future, the pilot scheme is a fantastic idea and I hope it can build into something more permanent.
