We had a much milder morning out on the heath today but there was a mist to contend with. First lot went over to the Al Bahathri and everything went smoothly. After I had watched my second lot cantering up Warren Hill who should appear from the mist but Sheikh Fahad Al-Thani, looking very stylish on a racehorse indeed.
Manjaam is our only runner today. We hope he has progressed from his run at Wolverhampton and if this is the case then he should be competitive. Ideally we would have gone for an easier race and possibly stepped him up in trip but there are extremely limited handicap options for horses such as himself at this time of year. If you were to see the interactive race planning, you would see that many trainers were suggesting 1m2f and 1m4f races for their three year olds. There does seem to be a shortage of them at this time of year.
We have declared Chestnut Storm and Sagely in the fillies’ maiden at Wolverhampton on Saturday. I shall talk more about them on the weekend but there is a field of eight and Sagely has a decent draw in three but Chestnut Storm has been posted wide in stall eight.
