It is a little overcast here at HQ this afternoon but it still remains relatively mild for the time of year. There is not long left until the turf racing ends but it has been fantastic to have some nice ground recently and I hope we can find some more decent ground over the next couple of weeks.
Al Nafoorah ran a stormer yesterday when just failing to land the fillies’ handicap by a neck. She has had a fabulous year and will now have a break and come back into training next year. Canimar ran well when fourth in the 7f fillies’ Median Auction and she will appreciate a step up to a mile. Dubai Frame and Highcastle both struggled and they look like they will need to enter handicap company to be competitive at this stage.
We run two horses tonight at Chelmsford. Global Angel looks to have been given a harsh opening mark by the handicapper and I hope the application of blinkers will see some improvement from him. Dagueneau runs in the 1m Novice and I hope he can step forward from his debut run and learn something this evening but it looks a strong race and he is bred to improve with time.
