Tanfeeth escorts two lovely ladies on day two

Tue 26 July 2011

We don't start off until race four on the second day of Glorious Goodwood, so Ed and Becky will be able to enjoy a leisurely lunch and digest the mouth-watering Sussex Stakes before swinging into action with TANFEETH in the £40,000 UBS Handicap.

Ed said:"The step up to the mile and a half worked the oracle for Tanfeeth at Newmarket last time even if we were slighly lucky with Luca's horse (Spifer) going walkabout, and, though we are now 5lb higher, I'd like to think that we would be competitive. It is a tough race, but, like all Singspiels, he has improved with experience, and, while he did not handle Epsom, he was ok around Chester, so I am optimistic that he will cope with Goodwood, and he seems to enjoy going right-handed."

Tanfeeth will be accompanied by two lovely ladies in the horsebox from La Grange stables, namely DIAMOND FINESSE, who runs in the two-year-old maiden, and MUSHARAKAAT, who takes her chance in the Nayef Fillies Handicap, which looks a real teaser.

The boss added:" Musharakaat will enjoy the drying ground and she did not stay the mile and a half in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot, so the drop in trip will suit her."

"Diamond Finesse ran really well to finish second on her debut at Windsor in May, and, while several in the race have subsequently let down the form, Miss Lahar, who was third, filled the same position in last Saturday's Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot, which gave us encouragement. Diamond Finesse suffered badly from sore shins early on, so we gave her plenty of time after Windsor, and she is now ready to return."
