Sterling Knight wins under the lights at Wolverhampton

Mon 20 December 2021

Sterling Knight broke his maiden in an eye-catching fashion at Wolverhampton on Saturday night.

The smart two-year-old son of Camelot has been unlucky on a few occasions not to get his head in front, including being second to Alan King’s subsequent Group 2 winner, Asymmetric, on his second start. However, when paired with Tom Marquand at Wolverhampton on Saturday night, Sterling Knight proved too good for the rest of the 11 runner field and went on to win by nearly two lengths.

Sterling Knight broke well and settled at the front of the field. Marquand asked the question two furlongs from home and it wasn’t long until he took the lead with a furlong to go. Clearly relishing the step up to seven furlongs, the bay stayed on well to win.

A huge congratulations must go out to his owner, Mr Paul Turner.
