Snow Fairy on course for return

Wed 15 August 2012

Snow Fairy, the stable's top-class globetrotting mare, is due to make her 2012 seasonal debut at Deauville on Sunday. The five-year-old, who gained her second victory in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Kyoto, Japan, in November, is on target for the Group 1 Prix Jean Romanet over 10 furlongs. She will depart her home base on Friday and travel by road and ferry to France.

The trainer said today: "We have left Snow Fairy in the Romanet and the plan is to run. A decision about the jockey will be made nearer the race. This is her first run of the year but we are excited to get her back and hope she will run well."

Snow Fairy is the winner of seven of her 19 races and more than £3.5 million. She has won five Group 1s: the 2010 Oaks and Irish Oaks and three valuable races in the Far East. Her last run in Britain was a fine third to Cirrus Des Aigles in the Group 1 Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot last October.
