Nothing was finishing faster than SNOW FAIRY in Saturday's £1.3m Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot and our globetrotting glamour gal, beaten little more than a length into third place behind Cirrus des Aigles and So You Think, left Ed feeling "tremendously proud".
He said: "Snow Fairy has still to win a race this year but she has been in the frame in all her five races and this £140,000 takes her earnings past the £2.8m mark. She did not enjoy the rub of the green as she was boxed in and Olivier Peslier had to wait for Christophe Soumillon to make his move on Cirrus des Aigles until he could find an escape route. Our filly was gaining on the first two hand over fist at the end and just ran out of ground but considering it was only 13 days since she ran in the Arc it was another herculean effort."
"Obviously, we will see how she comes out of the race but the plan has always been to try and defend her crown in the QE11 Cup in Japan on November 13 and all being well that is where she will be heading, though it will be tough as Dancing Rain is also scheduled to go there and she is a very smart three-year-old as we saw earlier in the day at Ascot."
