Last week proved prosperous for the family of Cayton Park Stud dam Shingwedzi. After Letaba (4 y-o gelded son of Muhaarar) scored relatively comfortably at Kempton on Wednesday night over 1m3f his younger brother Skukuza (3 y-o colt by Blue Point) declared to take his place in a the 1m Handicap on the Friday of Newmarket’s Guineas meeting.
A colt that has shown ability at home, despite taking time to mature, and he looked professional in the race, staying on well to finish a good 2nd behind the favourite. He is definitely a horse we are looking forward to seeing progress during the season and with any luck it won’t be long until we see him in the winners enclosure.
