''Satisfactory'' first run for Voodoo Prince

Sun 17 April 2011

VOODOO PRINCE, who has been the subject of much hype owing to the fact that he is Ouija Board's first foal, made a satisfactory first appearance on the racecourse in the mile maiden at Newbury on Saturday.

Obviously, Ed would have been happier had Voodoo Prince won, but, though finishing only sixth, the colt did not have a punishing introduction, and the trainer expressed himself "happy" after the race.

Ed said:"Voodoo Prince blew for 30 minutes afterwards and will come on a lot for that. He is a big, gross horse who was desperate for a run, and it was good to get the ball rolling. He will have learned plenty and the race will have done him good mentally as well as physically, so now we can build from here."
