Native Khan '' in great form ''

Fri 20 May 2011

Ed reports our Derby hope NATIVE KHAN is in great form as he prepares for Epsom, and he confirmed that the plan is for the grey to have a spin around the track at the 'Breakfast With the Stars' media morning next Thursday.

He said:"Native Khan will do two more pieces of work at home before the big day, but he will go down to Epsom next Thursday and have a canter round, just to give him a chance to experience what is a unique track."

"I could not be happier with Native Khan, and, while like everybody else, I would like some rain for my horses, this is one exception as he is such a great mover that he floats over fast ground, so I won't complain if it stays dry for the next fortnight."

"Native Khan has really progressed this spring and is now a much more mature individual than he was two months ago. He was very fresh and bouncy when we took him to the Craven Stakes, but that race did him the world of good as he was so more relaxed afterwards."

"He behaved perfectly on Guineas day and is even more switched off now, and you need a horse who is chilled out for all the hullaballoo of Derby day. He has grown up mentally, and it is a case of so far so good. Everyone keeps asking me about jockeys, but as far as I am concerned Kieren Fallon rides."
