Spring?
The weather has been much warmer this morning out on the heath. We have had a quiet Monday morning and there have been no dramas! The horses are fresh and well but thankfully there have been no loose ones!
It has been great to see the horses running well and Sagely really impressed me on Saturday. Although she was still green I liked her attitude and she seemed to enjoy her day out at Wolverhampton. I hope she will progress again when she moves into handicap company. We have two horses declared tomorrow at Wolverhampton and horses entered later in the week. I will talk about Blushes and Vivre Pour Vivre tomorrow.
Many Clouds gained a deserved first success of the season up at Kelso yesterday and it highlighted the progress that has been made in racing. Once upon a time an abandonment meant just that but when valuable races are now lost, they are saved wherever possible. It was an ideal preparation for the Grand National and if Many Clouds can win once again at Aintree he will be remembered for a long time to come. He is already a very popular horse due to his courage as well as his considerable ability. If he can repeat last year’s success off of 11:10 then it really would be something.
