It is an exciting week for us here at La Grange as Trip To Paris is running in the Dubai Gold Cup on Saturday at Meydan. He has travelled over very well and I hope a week of sunshine will really help him flourish. Unfortunately he has been drawn widest of all in stall fourteen!
I was delighted with Weloof’s win on Saturday night. It was quite a competitive mile Maiden and he won takingly. He did not handle the soft ground at Newbury at the back end of last year and so we will have to avoid bad ground with him in the future.
We just have the one runner at Kempton Park in the 6f handicap at 5:30. Muatadel has been drawn in stall one which is a positive and we have put the blinkers on him for the first time. He has a chance in what looks to be a competitive race. The stable form is a positive but he is still a maiden at four and I hope he can finish his race off now he is dropped back to 6f. Athassel is chasing a four timer and a seven pound claimer offsets the six pound penalty. He only won a head on his latest start and so theoretically he is likely to be badly in but he clearly knows how to win.
K’Gari Spirit is another with recent winning form and hails from a stable that have been red hot this Winter. The rest of the field appear to be exposed but Bush Warrior has run well off a higher mark than this before and Classic Pursuit is dropping to an interesting mark but has to overcome a wide draw.
