Indian Warrior

Another glorious day here at HQ and it was incredibly warm when we pulled out for first lot this morning, a shade before 6am!! All of the horses are being washed off after exercise and we are trying to make them as comfortable as possible. It looks like the hot weather will last throughout this week!

We had four runners over the weekend. Capricious Cantor gained some Black Type at Le Lion D’Angers when finishing a gallant second in the 1m2f 4 year old and upwards fillies' Prix Urban Sea (Listed). I was delighted with her run and this will increase her value as a Broodmare which is fantastic, our next job is to try and win a Listed race with her.

Weloof was never travelling yesterday and Silvestre looked after him when he was beaten, we will assess him and see if we can pinpoint why he is not performing as we know he can. King Kevin ran respectably at Lingfield when fifth and Sparkle found 6f a little sharp on her comeback run there, we will step her up to 7f next time.

I run four horses today at three different meetings. Al Nafoorah has been second on her last four runs and we head to Wetherby with her today to try and break her Maiden tag. Cheerfilly is lightly raced and she looks like the horse we have to beat. Indian Warrior runs back at Windsor in the 6:15 over 5f. He showed good speed there last time and whilst he may want 6f in time, I hope he can go close tonight. Gotti will improve on his debut run, Demons Rock is our main rival on the form book and Zalshah was well supported when disappointing on debut, so must be thought capable of better.

Sparte Quercus runs in the 10f Maiden later on at 8:15. He is a horse we are still learning about but he has shown some ability on both his starts for us. He has it to do on what he has shown so far and Prerogative is the horse we all have to aim at given he has an official rating of 79. He has had eleven starts so it will be no surprise if an unexposed type were to beat him. Kafoo goes to Nottingham and runs in the 8:00 there. He has a good draw in stall one and has had a break after Chelmsford as he had to pass a Stalls Test but he was well behaved when we tested him recently. We hope he can run well in an average affair with the red hot Silvestre De Sousa onboard.
