KANAF, carrying the colours of Sheikh Hamdan Al-Maktoum, ran out an impressive winner of the sprint handicap at Sandown on Saturday and is clearly going the right way.
Neil Callan found himself hemmed in on the fence a furlong and a half out, but he did not panic and when a gap eventually came Kanaf produced a breathtaking burst of acceleration to put the race to bed in three or four strides.
Ed said: "We will see what the handicapper does - he put Kanaf up 3lb for winning at Lingfield, and we will wait for his reaction to this success before making a plan, but I am pleased with the way that this fellow has got his act together. He is all speed and Neil was very complimentary."
