Heroine of Deauville returns home

Mon 20 August 2012

Snow Fairy was watched by the Sky cameras as she walked off the lorry from Deauville just before 430pm this afternoon. The yard's star filly - labelled a "phenomenal racehorse" by her trainer - is safe and sound after an 11-hour trip from France by road and sea.

In gaining her sixth Group or Grade 1 win in France yesterday, Snow Fairy drew within one top-level success of the stable's brilliant filly Ouija Board. She will have ample chance to draw level before the season is out.

"Snow Fairy is back in time for evening stables," said the trainer. "She appears to have travelled well and come out of the race in good condition."

Apart from the Prix Jean Romanet, Snow Fairy is the winner of the Oaks and Irish Oaks, the last two runnings of Japan's Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup and also the Hong Kong Cup. She remains unbeaten under Ryan Moore.
