Zamjar
Another very cold morning here in Newmarket with temperatures dipping below freezing once more. People came to Newmarket from far and wide yesterday to pay their respects to Walter Swinburn and there was a very large attendance at his funeral. It was a very sad day and as I have said in my blog before, he was an extremely talented individual who shined on the greatest stage and he will be sorely missed by many people.
We have the one runner up at Newcastle today in the opening Nursery at 12:50. Zamjar ran very well last time in first time blinkers and a repeat of that run would see him go very close this afternoon. Munro (who beat him last time at Lingfield) looks to be progressive and our son of Exceed And Excel is able to run off the same mark of 78, so he is officially two pounds well in at the weights.
Killermont Street drops back to 6f having won a Maiden Auction last time over 7f and she needs to step up on the bare form, she has only had two runs so it is feasible that she may improve significantly from her second to third run. Everything went against White Royale last time when she was two places behind us and she should finish closer to us this afternoon but still has something to find. Juan Horsepower is running six pounds wrong but most of this is offset by the valuable claim of Hollie Doyle who has been riding well lately, he is more exposed than Killermont Street but also won a Maiden on his latest start. Metronomic has not built on a promising debut but he does have the feather weight of 8:1.
