There has been some bright sunshine here at HQ for a change after over 30mm of rain fell yesterday. It will be very hard work at Newmarket later on this evening. Everyone is tweeting about Brexit and it does lead to a huge amount of uncertainty in our industry but it will take a long time for everything to unravel and hopefully a solution can be found that will mean that our industry can continue to flourish. Uncertainty always leads to panic and whilst these are worrying times the recovery in the stock market back through the 6000 level after big early falls on the opening of markets this morning means that some stability has returned.

We worked some of the horses this morning on the Flat Gallop as well as on the Al Bahathri and I am happy with how the two year olds are moving forward, we will have some more ready to run in the next few weeks. Ella Bourne and her husband Rob came to see Magdalene Fox this morning, they part-own the good looking two year old son of Foxwedge. William Wyatt was also here to see his filly Instigation and she will be ready to make her racecourse debut soon.

We have four horses running today at three race meetings. Gabrielle is closest to home and she runs in the 5:35 at Great Yarmouth, we were ideally looking for a 6f race for her but she showed a lot of speed when she ran well at Newmarket and the soft conditions there will be in her favour and it might not suit some of the others. Al Hamd heads to Newcastle and runs in the opening one mile handicap, he showed sparkle in a visor at home so I am hoping it will work well on the track too, he showed more when fifth in a competitive race at Doncaster last time. Sagely runs in the Hopping Stakes (Listed), she has a lot to find on the ratings but she is an improving filly, I think she will appreciate the surface and Diploma franked her York form when running well over a trip short of her optimum at Royal Ascot. Social Media runs at Doncaster in the 4:20 and I hope she will improve on her debut but she is still learning and I think she is one for the future.
