Mr Gent
This will be the last blog before Christmas and I would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. The weather has been a little warmer recently which has been fantastic for us all and a lot safer for the horses.
We have two runners today. Mr Gent looked like he ran into a well handicapped horse last week and given the handicapper has put him up seven pounds, we have to take our chance in the 7f Nursery at 5:45. Bezos is another horse who is well in and his conqueror ran well earlier in the week when narrowly beaten at Lingfield. Swissal has been improving and was a convincing winner ina lower grade recently whilst Poetic Imagination is a lightly raced type who could improve. I hope the blinkers work again and given we are well drawn in three everything suggests he should go very close but it is a good race for the grade given it is late December.
Sir Gnet has been freshened up since his latest run and nearly always runs his race. He likes it around Wolverhampton but he has a bad draw in stall eleven. Champagne Pink is on a hat-trick bid and has only gone up a total of seven pounds for her two wins. Broughton’s Story was improving for old connections and with a useful seven pounds taken off of his back he could be involved. Zoffany Bay won well last time after falling down the weights but it was a much weaker race than this. A case can be made for several of these and our horse should run well but whether that will be good enough we will have to see.
