Weloof
It has been a cool, overcast day here in Newmarket this morning. The leaves are changing colour and the season is rapidly coming to a close. The ground is still very good for this time of year and therefore we have a number of informative Maidens on the turf today at Doncaster and Newbury. I would expect some good horses to emerge from them and they will be worth watching.
We ran Alligator and Jive Factor at Chelmsford last night. Alligator could never get into the race from his wide draw and we will put a line through this run and find a one mile Nursery for him in the near future. Jive Factor showed a little promise and we will put him away now and let him strengthen before bringing him back for the 2017 Campaign.
I run two horses at Newbury this afternoon and one at Wolverhampton this evening. Weloof runs in the first division of the one mile Maiden at Newbury at 1:20. He is a likeable son of Redoute’s Choice who appears to have a good attitude and I expect him to perform with credit today. It could be a very good Maiden with some extremely well bred horses in the lineup, including a son of Frankel. My two year olds will always come on for the run but I do think he is a nice horse for the future. AlEmeratalyoum runs in the 6 1/2f Maiden at 1:50. The favourite is rated 92 and it looks a very good Maiden but I hope he can show us he has some ability.
Makman is our last runner in the 6:20 at Wolverhampton, his best form would give him a good chance in this seller but he has been below par in recent starts. I am hoping a return to Wolverhampton where he was second in a Nursery behind a subsequent winner will show him in a better light.
