FAREER, who ran well to finish second in the Group 2 Zabeel Mile at Meydan last Thursday, arrived back at La Grange stables on Saturday and might well yet take his chance in the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster on April 2.
Ed said:"Fareer improved every time in his four runs in Dubai, and we were very happy with him. He has 9st 6lb in the Lincoln, but he is a fit horse and you can run them virtually off the plane, so, while we'll see how he is over the next fortnight, Doncaster is a real possibility."
Meanwhile, as the horsebox carrying Fareer arrived home it was soon being refuelled to go back out on the road again as our globetrotting superstar SNOW FAIRY left for Dubai, where her target is the $US5m Sheema Classic on Saturday week.
Ed added:"Snow Fairy did her final piece of work on the Cambridge Road polytrack gallop on Friday, and everything went fine. Everyone is happy all around and her weight is good, but, though she was due to catch her plane from Manchester at 5pm on Sunday, there was a hiccup as the pilots had run out of flying hours, so the flight was held back until Monday."
"Happily, Lord and Lady Derby drove down with some rugs to keep the filly warm, and Kirkland Tellwright was also very accomodating and agreed to let us lodge overnight at Haydock. It was an annoying delay but nothing more than that, and Robin Trevor-Jones, our travelling head lad, was waiting for her when she came down the ramp. He had just enjoyed his first night without a horse to look after this winter, so he will have welcomed the mini break when Fareer left."
