Eshaab wins,Red Cadeaux and Burwaaz run well

Wed 02 May 2012

ESHAAB gained his first win today at Pontefract when taking the Betvictor Handicap over a mile and a quarter under Tadhg O'Shea. The three year old was in touch early and taking the lead inside the final furlong stayed on gamely in the closing stages to score by a half a length. The win for this son of Dynaformer (below) is long overdue having been knocking on the door in his last three runs. Running in the colours of Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, the colt was suited by the switch from polytrack today and there should be more to come from him in the future.
Elsewhere today RED CADEAUX ran well finishing second in the Sagaro Stakes at Kempton giving 3lb to the winner and coming home well clear of the remainder of the field. He will have benefited from the reappearance and the Yorkshire Cup is next on the agenda. BURWAAZ came home strongly to be third in the Pavillion Stakes after a troubled run and the Exceed and Excel colt remains a smart prospect.
