Dherghaam Impresses In York Win

Sat 22 May 2010

DHERGHAAM looked a three-year old on the upgrade when demolishing a competitive looking field over 7f at York on May 22.

Sheikh Hamdan's son of Exceed and Excel was sent off the 11/8 favourite having got off the mark at Catterick on his previous start.

Jockey Richard Hills kept it simple, taking his mount to the lead as soon as the gates opened.

He settled well before quickening the pace with 2f to go. At this point his rivals began to fall away and Dherghaam was left to collect the spoils by five lengths.

It was a third winner of the week for trainer Ed Dunlop who has his team in fine form.
