You can never be dogmatic about the draw at the 'new' Ascot, but, having watched proceedings on the opening day of the Royal meeting, we have no doubt that BURWAAZ, who starts from stall 17 in Thursday's Norfolk Stakes, looks to be on the right side.
Ed said:"I'd rather be drawn high on what I have seen so far, so we got our wish there. Burwaaz showed a lot of promise on his debut at Nottingham (6f), being beaten a nose, but we switched him back to five at Leicester to see if he had the speed for this and he won really well. He has a fantastic temperament which is a big help here, but whether he is good enough we are about to find out."
Our other runner on Ladies Day is MUSHARAKAAT in the Ribblesdale Stakes, and Ed added:"She was a decent two-year-old and you can forget her first run this season as they went no pace in the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket. She then ran with credit to finish fourth in the Cheshire Oaks, and the winner (Wonder of Wonders) hardly let the form down at Epsom when finishing second, so we go there hoping we might grab some black type."
