Burning Bush and Tom Marquand winning at Newbury
Building on from a very promising third on his nursery debut over seven furlongs, BURNING BUSH finally had his say when pulling clear to win at Newbury on Thursday night.
Partnered up with Tom Marquand, the pair were held up in midfield for the first four furlongs. As the race progressed, a gap opened up, and Marquand was able to push the colt into the lead. Burning Bush managed to fend off the Hilal Kobeissi trained novice winner, Ye Gud Thing, to cross the line a neck in front.
The two-year-old son of Fulbright, was picked up at Goffs online auction last autumn as a yearling for just €5,500, on behalf of the Old Etonian Racing Syndicate. He is a smart improving sort, and will hopefully continue to progress further.
