We are excited to be sending two smart fillies to France this week.
Auction heads to Clairefontaine for a Listed race for fillies and mares on Thursday which is over one mile one furlong. Auction ran well last time out at Glorious Goodwood considering she hit traffic problems at the business end of the race and had to be switched out wide at a crucial stage. She came out of that race very well and will be partnered by Christophe Soumillon for the first time.
“I have spoken to Robin, my travelling head lad and Auction has travelled over to France well. It’s a bright, sunny day over there so hopefully the ground is drying out a little. We have a world class jockey booked and we are hopeful Auction can pick up some more black type for her owners.”
Amazing Maria is heading to Deauville for The Prix De Lieurey Group 3 on Friday and Gerald Mosse has been booked to take the ride. Mosse partnered her last year when winning The Prestige Stakes Group 3 at Glorious Goodwood. Amazing Maria has been rather unlucky this year as she had a respiratory infection earlier on in the season and then missed a couple of races due to the ground going against her. She is in great form at home and we are excited to get this very promising filly back on the racecourse.
“This looks a very competitive race with some highly rated French horses entered. Gerald Mosse is booked on Amazing Maria and has won on her before. I’m hoping she likes the ground and I also hope to see the true filly that we saw last year.”
Auctions race is at Clairfontaine on Thursday at 1.50pm and can be viewed on At The Races.
Amazing Maria runs at Deauville in the 3.50pm and can also be viewed on At The Races.
